Pasifika Art
We created Pasifika patterns, using our knowledge of Fractions. First we divided the background paper into quarters. Then we used different colours to represent the background. Following that, we folded squares of paper in half diagonally, to create symmetrical leaves. We discussed what fraction of our leaves were different colours.

Music and Fractions
We have been using fractions in music, to create rhythms. We used food words with different numbers of syllables, to help us remember what fraction of a whole note to play. For example, Taro has two syllables, which we played as 2 halves of a note. Come and see our display in Room 6, where you can try to clap out some of the rhythms we made.

LEARN CREATE SHARE in Reading
Today when Miss Lane came to visit we read the big book 'The Hungry Giant'. We were LEARNING to sequence a story, describe a character and recognise digraphs. We then CREATED an Explain Everything slide show to show what we had learnt. Then we SHARED our learning using the Apple TV with the class and we are SHARING it with the world on our blog. Have a look!
We used the book to help us sequence the story.
We drew The Hungry Giant and labelled his physical characteristics.
Listen to us recording the story using the microphone tool.
We had a digraph treasure hunt.
